How It Works

Pichoose compares exactly two pictures inside your browser. It samples each picture on a temporary browser canvas, measures six visual properties and combines them into one technical-quality score. The picture with the higher combined score is selected.

The six measurements

Clarity measures edge strength as an indication of visible sharpness. Exposure evaluates average brightness against a balanced target. Contrast measures variation between light and dark areas. Detail considers the original image resolution and its capacity to preserve fine information. Color evaluates overall saturation against a natural middle range. Balance compares brightness distribution across the four main areas of the frame.

How the score is calculated

The combined score weights Clarity at 27%, Exposure at 21%, Contrast at 17%, Detail at 13%, Color at 11% and Balance at 11%. These weights give the greatest influence to visible sharpness and usable exposure while still accounting for tonal range, resolution, color and frame balance.

What Pichoose does not judge

Pichoose provides a technical recommendation, not an objective verdict on artistic value. The browser-based comparison does not fully understand emotion, storytelling, facial expression, brand strategy, personal taste or the intention behind a picture. Use the result as a fast second opinion alongside your own judgment.

What happens to the pictures?

The pictures stay in the active browser session. They are not uploaded to Pichoose, sent to an external image-analysis provider or stored in a permanent Pichoose image library.
